OpenAI introduces AI for Nonprofit Jam in Bengaluru
OpenAI recently conducted its AI for Nonprofits Jam in Bengaluru, aimed at empowering nonprofits to scale AI for social impact. This event is part of a series designed to connect organization leaders with technical experts to explore practical AI applications within the social sector. Participants from diverse backgrounds, including education, healthcare, skilling, climate action, and gender inclusion, explored the real operational challenges they face in their work. Through collaborative sessions, they designed tailored AI solutions to address these issues, reflecting OpenAI’s goal of making advanced AI accessible to mission-driven teams. This workshop also established a framework for ongoing peer-learning and resource sharing, marking a commitment to sustained collaboration and development beyond the event.
Collaborative Efforts for Social Impact
This workshop was delivered in partnership with Karya, a social enterprise committed to ethical AI, and supported by Wadhwani AI, which focuses on deploying AI solutions for social impact. Both organizations contribute to societal advancements through innovative approaches to AI, addressing critical areas such as healthcare and education. The event is strategically positioned ahead of the AI Impact Summit, scheduled for February 19–20, 2026, in New Delhi, which will convene global leaders to discuss responsible and inclusive AI deployment. The ongoing dialogue among participants and facilitators at the jam illustrates the evolving landscape of AI in the nonprofit sector, where effective application can lead to enhanced operational efficiency and deeper community engagement.
